Canadian UAVs and ARA Robotics is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) targeting the advancement of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) RPAS operations in remote locations exposed to extreme cold environments. The agreement will see the integration of ARA’s advance cold weather tested UAVs into Canadian UAVs Sparrowhawk Radar and Tasker Fleet Management to enabled BVLOS operations.
This unique capability combines Canada’s only approved Detect and Avoid system with the most cold-hardened small UAV product line available, enabling reliable remote operations via mobile and SATCOM connectivity, supported by a proprietary software infrastructure. This end-to-end capability will allow UAVs to service more customer in the extreme north such as remote communities and the mining sector.
“ARA Robotics has achieved a significant milestone in recent years, showcasing the advanced capabilities of its aircraft solutions for mining and military applications in harsh weather conditions and specialized missions. Our collaboration with Canadian UAVs underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional solutions and services across Canada. Leveraging Canadian UAVs’ expertise in BVLOS operations across diverse UAV sizes, along with their proprietary Sparrowhawk technology, we are combining strengths to offer a high-value, tailored solution for this demanding and emerging market. Together, we are well-positioned to support industries seeking specialized, commercially viable UAV solutions.” – Pascal Chiva-Bernard | CEO of ARA Robotics
“After nearly a decade of working in the remote northern mines and oil fields of Canada, we have finally found an OEM focussed on the extreme needs of this environment at a commercially competitive price point. By integrating our offerings together, clients are able to operate more effectively in a broader range of weather conditions. With Operations managed and optimized in Tasker, Sparrowhawk deconflicting the airspace and ARA’s UAVs hardened for the colder climates, clients get the full package at a reasonable price point today.” – Sean Greenwood President | CEO of Canadian UAVs
