Canadian UAVs Officially Opens its Lockheed Martin Distribution and Service Centre

CALGARY, Alberta, November 1, 2022 – Canadian UAVs is pleased to announce the completion of its Lockheed Martin Distribution and Service Centre based in Calgary, Alberta. The 1,500 square foot locally focussed office space boasts local Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) training locations as well as order fulfillment and servicing infrastructure to ensure on-time and well supported service offerings for the Department of National Defence and other government agencies, such as law enforcement, search and rescue, wildfire control and environmental agencies.

Additionally, Canadian UAVs original distribution agreement has been expanded to include the latest generation of the Indago quadrotor system, Indago 4. Indago 4 can be paired with Canadian UAVs’ proven Detect and Avoid (DAA) system, the Sparrowhawk™ radar, to give operators BVLOS capabilities in civil airspace. Indago 4 employs the Lockheed Martin VCSi ground control interface, which allows operators to see Sparrowhawk’s airspace management picture that organically displays the vehicle control interface.

“We are excited to have Canadian UAVs as a key partner to Lockheed Martin Procerus Technologies. Their expertise in uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) along with their innovative approach to BVLOS operations will help reinforce Lockheed Martin’s support to the Canadian Armed Forces and their operations utilizing UAS,” said Jeff Gardner, Business Development Manager at Lockheed Martin Procerus Technologies.

“By establishing this distribution centre in Canada, Canadian UAVs provides a one-stop shop service to our customers, ensuring they have in-country support to focus on their very demanding missions,” said Sean Greenwood, president and founder of Canadian UAVs.
“We deal with configuration management, shipping logistics, type training and keep an inventory of consumables to ensure rapid turnaround times. After years of using Lockheed Martin’s UAVs in the oil and gas sector, we have an intimate understanding of how to deploy these systems in some of the harshest locations on earth.”

“If the customer wants to execute more advanced missions, we have the only technology in the market with proven data and regulatory permitting to enable long distance, wide area BVLOS operations in Canada. With Canadian UAVs and Lockheed Martin, you are buying a capability, not just a drone.”
